It also required changing NCAA legislation to permit MTEs in the Bahamas. Approval came in March 2011; the first eight-team Atlantis men’s tournament followed in November. That tournament quickly earned marquee status with big-name fields, with Atlantis champions Villanova (2017) and Virginia (2018) later winning that season’s NCAA title. Games run in a ballroom-turned-arena at the resort, where players also check out massive swimming pools, water slides and inner-tube rapids surrounded by palm trees and the Atlantic Ocean. “It’s just the value of getting your passport stamped, that will never get old,” Miller-Tooley said. “Watching some of these kids, this may be their first and last time – and staff and families – that they ever travel outside the United States. ... ATLANTA (AP) — Kara Dunn scored a season-high 28 points, Dani Carnegie had her career high with 24 points, and No. 13 Georgia Tech rolled past Pittsburgh 100-61 on Sunday. Dunn made 10 of 14 shots and 7 of 8 free throws to go with seven rebounds and three assists. Carnegie, a freshman who averages 14.5 points per game off the bench, made 9 of 16 shots, including 4 of 11 3-pointers. Georgia Tech made 11 of 19 shots (58%) in the first quarter and broke out to a 31-18 lead. The Yellow Jackets led 53-28 at halftime after Dunn scored 20 points, 13 in the first quarter. For the half, she made 7 of 10 shots and went 5 for 5 from the free-throw line. A 10-0 run in the third quarter pushed Georgia Tech's lead to 77-43 and the Yellow Jackets held the Panthers to four free throws over the final 3 1/2 minutes of the period. Here is a look back at his life. 1924 — Jimmy Carter was born on Oct. 1 to Earl and Lillian Carter in the small town of Plains, Georgia. 1928 — Earl Carter bought a 350-acre farm 3 miles from Plains in the tiny community of Archery. The Carter family lived in a house on the farm without running water or electricity. 1941 — He graduated from Plains High School and enrolled at Georgia Southwestern College in Americus. 1942 — He transferred to Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. 1943 — Carter’s boyhood dream of being in the Navy becomes a reality as he is appointed to the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. 1946 — He received his naval commission and on July 7 married Rosalynn Smith of Plains. They moved to Norfolk, Virginia. 1946-1952 — Carter’s three sons are born, Jack in 1947, Chip in 1950 and Jeff in 1952. 1962-66 — Carter is elected to the Georgia State Senate and serves two terms. 1953 — Carter’s father died and he cut his naval career short to save the family farm. The announcers said he was previously in the Olympics wrestling for Uzbekistan. He’s a massive human being. Early in this Modzmanashvili landed an explosive double-leg takedown on Makowski that woke the crowd up. Makowski was able to move into a triangle choke attempt before Modzmanashvili muscled out of Makowski’s guard as he went for an ankle hold. Makowski laid in a few shots to Modzmanashvili’s head. Modzmanashvili would later launch Makowski with a German suplex that left Makowski outside of the ring. The crowd let out a “HO-LY SH**!” chant and the moment was even replayed on the broadcast. Whenever Makowski had Modzmanashvili on the ropes, the crowd started to boo. They fell in love with this guy by the end of the match, which Modzmanashvili won with a massive Vader-like power bomb. The ref called for the TKO finish. The crowd would then chant “PLEASE COME BACK!” and “DA-VID!” afterwards (because good luck on trying to chant his surname). Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren insists Democrats should not shy away from speaking against the incoming Donald Trump administration, even if it means facing potential backlash. "Look, our job is to speak up. We are in the minority, and that is our job," Warren said. The senator's comments came in response to a question about whether Massachusetts is risking retaliation from the Trump administration on issues like immigration. Last month, Trump's incoming border czar criticized Mayor Michelle Wu after she stated on WCVB's "On The Record " that she would not cooperate with the president-elect's plans for mass deportation. "We cannot start out by rolling over and playing dead in the hopes that if we do that, Donald Trump and his team will leave us alone," Warren said. Concerns about retaliation have grown after Trump suggested that members of the House Select Committee who investigated the Jan. 6 attack should go to jail. "I don't think there's going to be any retaliation from this administration. In fact, President Trump has spoken he wants to de-weaponize the Justice Department, which is what I expect he'll do," said Logan Trupiano, Massachusetts GOP spokesperson.
